A country lawyer, elected President, as the Union of The United States breaks apart. South Carolina secedes in December 1860. Seeking to force reunion, after 11 Southern States secede, Lincoln has to manage a Civil War and steer the country towards victory, and the eventual abolition of slavery. He is assassinated on April 14, 1865, five days after Lee surrenders, thus becoming our first martyred President.
